The Billet Alloy engine steady bar is a direct‑fit replacement for the factory‑fitted steel stabiliser bar used on later Classic Mini models. Its purpose is to limit fore–aft movement of the power unit during acceleration, braking, and gear changes, improving drivetrain stability and reducing stress on engine mounts, exhaust joints, and gear‑linkage components.
Fitment and dimensions
- Designed for 1990‑on Classic Mini models equipped with the 1275cc engine.
- Also suitable for all automatic Minis, which use the same mounting geometry.
- Centre‑to‑centre length: 170 mm, matching the later “long” type steady bar specification.
Construction and compatibility
